Madrid, January 27, 2025 – The Government, in its commitment to sustainability and the energy transition, has announced new subsidies and aid for the installation of solar panels in homes, companies and communities. These measures, partially financed by Next Generation European funds, seek to promote self-consumption and reduce the impact of electricity bills on citizens.
Most notable subsidies for solar panels in 2025
- IDAE aid for innovative projects
The Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) has launched a historic call with a budget of 250 million euros, aimed at collective self-consumption projects, photovoltaic integration in agriculture and optimization of infrastructure such as swamps. Applications will be open until March 31, 2026.
- Tax credits in IBI and IRPF
Some autonomous communities, such as Madrid, offer discounts of up to 95% on the Real Estate Tax (IBI) for those who install solar systems. In addition, deductions of up to 60% can be obtained in personal income tax for improvements in energy efficiency, with a maximum of 3,000 euros per year.
- Storage System Grants
An additional 30 million euros have been allocated for the implementation of batteries and storage systems that complement photovoltaic installations, improving energy efficiency and autonomy.
- Incentives for self-consumption in neighborhood communities
Aid is also extended to neighborhood communities that opt for collective self-consumption systems, encouraging collaboration between owners and reducing installation costs.
Benefits of self-consumption in 2025
In addition to contributing to a more sustainable future, self-consumption with solar panels allows you to significantly reduce your electricity bill and increase the energy efficiency of homes and businesses. With these subsidies, access to these technologies will be more affordable for thousands of families.
